Writing An Infrared Inspection Report
Follow the instructions on the template report file
Report SubmissioN
Submit your reports here to complete your certifications.
To complete your certification, you are required to submit 3 Reports. One report consist of a single thermogram + digital photo, not a whole project / inspection.
Once we have received your report, you will receive a Report Feedback PDF and your Level-1 Certification Number via email.
Next we will be processing your credentials, ie. Certificate, Rubber Stamp, ID Card. Credential processing is every 2 months.
For urgent requests, simply notify us, please note that a processing and delivery fee of $50 is required.
Report Guide & Template

These examples are for practice only. For your actual report, use relevant details and keep it simple enough for the receiver to take action.
Electrical Component Conditions
- Overheated Connection – “Elevated temperature detected at terminal connection, likely due to increased resistance. Possible causes: loose connection, oxidation, or overloading. Immediate inspection and corrective action recommended.”
- Overloaded Circuit – “Significantly higher temperature recorded on a conductor compared to similar circuits. Possible excessive current draw. Load verification recommended.”
- Transformer Hotspot – “Excessive heat detected on transformer windings or connections. Possible overloading, cooling inefficiency, or winding degradation. Further diagnostic testing recommended.”
- Loose Lug or Connection – “Localized heat signature at a termination point, checking / monitoring required.”
- Defective Breaker – “Breaker housing exhibiting elevated temperatures compared to similar units. Possible internal damage or overcurrent condition. Immediate investigation necessary.”
- Faulty Fuse – “Fuse holder exhibiting excessive heat, indicating a high resistance connection or an improperly rated fuse. Inspection and corrective action needed.”
Building Component Conditions
- Roof Moisture Intrusion – “Localized cool or warm anomalies detected, indicating potential trapped moisture within roofing material. Further invasive testing recommended.”
- Insulation Deficiency – “Thermal bridging observed, suggesting missing or compromised insulation. Heat loss and energy inefficiency may result. Additional insulation recommended.”
- Air Leakage – “Abnormal temperature gradients along door/window seals suggest air infiltration or exfiltration. Weather sealing improvements advised.”
- Water Leakage Behind Walls – “Unusual cool patterns indicate possible moisture accumulation behind walls. Moisture meter verification and remedial action suggested.”
- HVAC Duct Leakage – “Thermal anomalies along ductwork suggest potential air leaks, reducing efficiency. Sealing and insulation improvements needed.”
- Concrete Delamination – “Temperature variations on the concrete surface indicate potential delamination. Further structural assessment required.”
- Window Seal Failure – “Thermal differences in glazing suggest compromised window seals. Possible condensation and energy loss. Resealing or replacement recommended.”
- Plumbing Leak – “Localized cool area along a pipe route suggests potential plumbing leak. Inspection and repair required.”
- Heat Loss through Walls – “Significant heat loss detected through walls, indicating possible insulation degradation. Energy efficiency improvements advised.”
- Foundation Moisture Issue – “Cool anomalies along foundation suggest potential moisture ingress. Drainage and waterproofing review recommended.”
